This recipe for banana pancakes for babies (6+ months) or toddlers is very easy. It will take you no more than 10 minutes to prepare. And they are delicious! I like to eat them myself as well, preferably with some honey 😋 (but remember, no honey for your baby!)
My toddler is a picky eater. Therefore I am happy that he loves these banana pancakes so much. I could write a long essay about the health benefits of bananas for your baby or toddler, but I will keep it short like the recipe. So here it is:
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 egg
- 2 tbs flour
Preparation:
- Mash the banana until more or less smooth
- Mix in the egg and the flour with a fork.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add a little bit of vegetable oil or butter. Drop a tablespoon of batter per pancake in the frying pan and let cook for about 3 minutes until it starts to become firm and the bottom is golden brown. Flip the pancakes and let cook for another 2 or 3 minutes.
- Let cool slightly and serve.
You can serve the banana pancakes whole or cut it up in pieces, with a side of fruits or some yogurt. You could use oats or oat flour instead of plain flour or add a little bit of cinnamon. Vary as you like.
mash and mix

That’s all, folks. It’s very quick and easy, and my baby and toddler love it!
[update] I have recently started to experiment a bit with adding vegetables to the banana pancakes. I especially like to add carrots to the mix. You can find the recipe here.

Made these for breakfast today and my 8 month old loves them. Can you freeze them?
Hi Kimberly
That’s great to hear! Thanks for your comment. I actually never tried freezing them. We never had any leftovers. But I guess you can freeze them. With some baking paper (or similar) between the pancakes so you can easily separate them when frozen.
